Welcome!

 Welcome Delegates!

We are excited to have you all for BMUN LXXII and the Chinese State Council (CSC) committee.

The CSC committee page can be found here. We hope that you take the appropriate time to read and review all of the topic synopses and background guides to be able to make most out of your time during committee.

This blog will act as our committee’s more informal avenue for discussion and communication before the conference — and we’d love to see you interact with it! The purpose of this blog is to (1) allow you to actively engage with the content of this committee and (2) give you all the opportunity to learn about other delegates' policies before the debate actually starts. You can post comments on posts that we make and write about literally anything relevant to the topics at hand! For example, if you’ve found follow-up content or research you’d like to share, would like to discuss your opinion on the topic, or have other ideas in mind, this blog is the place for that!

Position Papers:

We highly recommend taking advantage of the synopsis as the starting point in your research. It may be really long (sorry), but we promise that it’s a digestible read; plus, a good portion of it is images and citations.

CSC will use the standard, default position paper format. Position papers are due on February 18th to be considered for the Research Award, and February 25th to be considered for any committee award. Please reach out to us if you need more time, and we would be happy to grant an extension.

Procedure Guide:

In addition, CSC will be using standard BMUN/MUN procedure and we will not be permitting technology use during committee.

We will also be conducting simulation of Topic B in Mandarin.

If you have any questions about the topics, the procedure, your position paper, or BMUN in general, please don’t hesitate to contact us at csc72@bmun.org

On behalf of our entire dais, we look forward to welcoming you to BMUN 72!

Sincerely,

Eric Pan

Head Chair of CSC, BMUN LXXII
